Project Information
Port Kembla Coal Terminal (PKCT) is a key coal exporting facility on Australia’s east coast, located 72 km south of Sydney. It services two of the nation’s richest coal reserves, the Southern and Western coalfields of NSW – exporting high quality coking and thermal coal to customers around the world.
We were engaged to removed and replace all existing roofing, external windows, rust removal and steel protection on the perimeter frame and completed a new control room refurbishment to engineer specifications. Demolished of the existing control room containing asbestos throughout which meant work had to abide to the strictest of safety rules by SafeWork NSW and the coal terminal rules.
Weather forecasting became a critical part of the project to time works accordingly and to not interfere with other ongoing work where it was needed to keep the job moving.
